Windows Vista への Upgrade Planning

「Windows Vista」と「2007 Office system」の発売が間近に迫ってきました。
2007年1月30日の発売なので、実質あと二日半。
各販売店では、Windows95販売時の賑わい再来を期待し、
29日23時過ぎからイベント開始をするところが多いようです。今回の「Windows Vista」は、種類が多すぎて、フツーの人にはなかなか理解できません。
そして更に理解を難しくしているのは、以前のWindowsからのアップグレード。
「Windows Vista」の画面効果である「Aero」（エアロ）は高いハードスペックを要求するなど、自分のマシンにアップグレードを適用できるのかどうかがわかりづらい。
（誤解の無いように記載するが、要求最低スペックは意外と低い。XPが動作する機種であれば、大抵Vistaは動作します。Vistaの全機能を使用、あるいは快適に作業ができるようにするために必要なスペックという意味。）

If you are currently using Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional x64, you are eligible for an upgrade copy to a corresponding or better edition of Windows Vista, but a clean install is required.For versions of Windows earlier than Windows 2000, upgrade copies are not available. These earlier versions of Windows require you to install a full copy of Windows Vista.If the edition of Windows Vista that you choose to install will result in a loss of functionality over your current edition of Windows, a clean install must be done or the installation must be completed to a new partition on your PC.
